I received a call from a new potential client last week!

Firstly, I was thrilled that another company had come to me and had been recommended by an existing client.

They told me that they had been trying to hire for 3 months and just are unable to find any “decent candidates” their words.

So, I asked what have you been doing and what do you mean by decent, they went on to say that they are using 15 agencies! They are all sending the same candidates, they are not qualified, not spoken to and some of them did not even know anything about the role or the business prior to the interview.

I explained that I could potentially help them, however, the first thing they need to do is to work with me exclusively. Set some dates in their diary for when they are free to interview, increase the salary as this was too low for what they wanted, and implement flexible working after probation.

They agreed I got to work.

They now have three interviews with prequalified candidates for the role and one of them will be offered the role this week.

Sometimes we just need someone to take control of a bad situation and guild us to get the result we wanted from the start
